Abstract:
These webmaps are a visual interpretation of both the directory and link structures of various websites.  In order to create these pieces, a custom webcrawler spiders through the internal links of each site, cataloging each page and file.  Once a site has been completely indexed, an image is generated from that data.  The resulting webmaps can yield subtle insights into the philosophy and psychology of design behind each site. 

In the webmaps here, files and directories are represented by a white dot.  Grey lines show the file and directory structure.  Colored lines show the internal link structure.  Links that generate errors or lead to external sites are ignored.
