<RANT> There is nothing more distasteful to me than religious intolerance.
I grew up LDS (Mormon).
I was taunted, ridiculed and beaten-up because of my and my family's religious beliefs.
I was told that I was in a cult, and that I was going to hell.
Some other local churches organized rallies and put out videos about how wrong and evil I was.
All before the age of tweleve.
Now I'm Pagan.
Not because there is anything wrong with the LDS church, but because this is the path that rings true for me.
Most of the "Mormons" that I know are honest, kind and loving people.
Sure, there are a few bad apples, but show me a group of people where everyone's perfect.
Recently, I encountered a bit of religious intolerance in a Pagan "web-crafter" group that I am a member of.
I am amazed that anyone calling themselves a Pagan could single out an entire group of people simply because of their religion.
And here is the most hypocritical part; the topic of discussion was a search engine that was banning sites because of their association with Paganism and witchcraft!
This person has the gall to single out Mormons while at the same time complaining about being discriminated against?!?!
I CAN'T STAND THAT KIND OF STUPID, UNEDUCATED, NARROW-MINDED, INTOLERANT, HOLIER-THAN-THOU, INSENSATIVE, HATE-SPREADING ADDITUDE!!!
Everyone thinks they're right.
Their religion is the "true" one.
The reason I originally became interested in Paganism, years ago, was the sense of acceptance and tolerance I received from other Pagans.
Maybe I should just go back to being a spiritual isolationist.
Things are getting a bit too close-minded and dogmatic for me.
