As many/some of you know, I have been accepted to attend CalArts in the fall. I'm in the midst of formulating my plan of attack for handling this new adventure, and I am in need of some advice from my friends (ie - YOU PEOPLE!).
- PLAN A - Continue to live in my Condo
- Pros:
- Privacy
- Already comfortable there
- Close to school
- Enough space for all of my junk (and Angie's as well)
- Washer/Dryer/Fridge/Stove
- Don't have to share the bathroom/shower (unless I want to! ;) )
- A garage to park my car in
- Have a place to live during the summer
- Cons:
- $1400/mo rent
- The landlord might decide to sell the place
- Have to pay for utilities/internet ($300-$400/mo)
- Would need to keep my job/work
- PLAN B - Live in the Dorms
- Pros:
- $300/mo rent
- Don't have to pay for utilities or internet
- Sleep until 10 minutes before class
- Take part in student population/social-type-stuff
- I could quit my job and just concentrate on art and music
- $300/mo rent!
- Cons:
- Privacy
- Share a bathroom with 4 people
- No Washer/Dryer/Fridge/Stove
- No room for my junk (or Angie's)
- No garage for my car
- NO PLACE TO LIVE DURING THE SUMMER...
- I'm in my fucking 30's...
So what do you all think? Plan A or Plan B? Either way, Angie and I will still be able to live together (thanks to CalArt's liberal housing policy), so that's not an issue. The lack of summer housing (if we choose to live in the dorms) is a huge issue, however. Any ideas suggestions or advice?
Thanks in advance, Lars
